Pressure Cleaning Northern Beaches

Driveways, paths and patios brought back to life.

Coastal grime, black mould and lichen take hold fast on Northern Beaches hard surfaces — and a clean driveway or path lifts the whole property. We pressure clean concrete, pavers, sandstone, tiles and pool surrounds, matching the pressure to the surface so nothing gets chewed up. Fully insured, 5-star rated, and you deal with Graeme, the owner — not a call centre.

The difference a clean makes

Grime builds up so slowly you stop seeing it

Hard surfaces weather a little at a time, so the change creeps up on you. Then one day the driveway looks tired, the path's gone green in the shade and the patio's lost its colour — and a quick hose-down does nothing. That's years of embedded dirt, salt film and organic growth that only proper pressure cleaning shifts.

It's not just looks. Algae and moss on a shaded path turn slippery and dangerous, especially after coastal rain. And clean, well-kept hard surfaces are one of the cheapest ways to lift kerb appeal before a sale, an open home or just to enjoy the place again.

A hire unit from the local servo will move some surface dirt, but without the right surface-cleaner attachment you get zebra stripes, and without pre-treating the growth it's back within months. We do it once, properly.

What we restore

Hard surfaces, properly cleaned

If it's a hard exterior surface on your property, chances are we clean it. We match the technique to the material every time.

Driveways & paths

Concrete, aggregate, brick paving and stencilled drives — lifting oil shadow, tyre marks, salt film and that grey weathered dullness back to an even, clean finish.

Patios & pool surrounds

Entertaining areas, alfresco tiles, coping and pool decking cleaned of mould, algae and grime — safer underfoot and ready for summer.

Tiles, pavers & sandstone

Travertine, sandstone, terracotta and concrete pavers — cleaned at the right pressure so the surface and the jointing stay intact.

Done the right way

We pre-treat moss, mould and lichen first, then clean with a flat surface cleaner for an even, stripe-free result — and ease right back on soft sandstone and older pavers so nothing pits or etches. Steps, retaining walls, garage floors, courtyards and pool surrounds all covered.

Why coastal surfaces need it

Salt, shade and humidity do the damage

Living near the water is hard on hard surfaces. Salt-laden air settles into concrete and pavers, coastal humidity keeps shaded paths permanently damp, and that combination is exactly what black mould, algae and lichen love. Add leaf litter from established Northern Beaches gardens and you've got organic growth that comes back fast if it's only blasted off the top.

That's why we pre-treat the growth before we clean — so we're killing it at the root, not just moving it around. On driveways we work on oil shadow and traffic film; on entertaining areas and pool surrounds we focus on the slip hazard that mould creates.

And we match the method to the surface. Hard surfaces like concrete, paving and tile take proper pressure cleaning. Delicate surfaces — render, painted walls and roofs — need low-pressure soft washing instead, so we never force high pressure where it can do harm. If your job needs a mix we'll tell you upfront — and a pressure clean is the perfect time to add a window clean or a gutter clear while we’re on site.

Good to know

Pressure cleaning questions, answered

Will pressure cleaning damage my pavers or sandstone?
Not when it's done properly. The damage you see online comes from too much pressure on soft materials. We match the pressure and nozzle to the surface — easing right back on sandstone, older pavers and jointing, and using a flat surface cleaner for an even finish rather than a concentrated jet that can pit or etch.
Do you actually treat the moss and mould, or just blast it off?
We pre-treat it. Blasting alone only removes the surface layer and the growth is back within months. We apply a treatment first so the moss, algae and lichen are killed off, then clean — which is why our results last far longer, especially on shaded coastal paths.
What surfaces do you clean?
Driveways, paths, patios, alfresco and entertaining areas, pool surrounds and decking, courtyards, steps, retaining walls, garage floors, brick paving, concrete, tiles, pavers and sandstone. If you're not sure whether yours suits pressure cleaning or low-pressure soft washing, just ask and we'll advise.
Can you remove oil stains and rust?
We can usually reduce them significantly, but it's honest to say some deep oil and rust staining has soaked in and won't fully lift. We'll take a look when we quote and tell you realistically what kind of result to expect — no overselling.
What's the difference between pressure cleaning and soft washing?
Pressure cleaning uses higher-pressure water for tough hard surfaces — driveways, paths, concrete and paving. Soft washing uses low pressure and is for delicate surfaces like render, painted walls and roofs. We match the method to the surface so you get a clean result without any risk of damage.
How often should I have it done?
For most Northern Beaches homes, every one to two years keeps hard surfaces looking their best. Shaded, damp or heavily treed spots that grow moss and algae quickly may want it yearly. We'll suggest a sensible rhythm for your property when we quote.
How much does pressure cleaning cost?
It depends on the area, the surface and how much build-up there is. Use our instant online quote tool for a price in under a minute, or send your details and we'll confirm an exact, obligation-free figure.
